Tint questions
How dark can I legally go in Florida?
Florida law requires front side windows to let in more than 28% of light. On sedans, back side windows and the rear window must let in more than 15%; on SUVs, trucks and vans they can go to 6%. The windshield can only be tinted above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line. Medical exemptions exist — ask Omar if that applies to you.
Which film should I pick?
It comes down to how much heat bothers you. SL is the everyday choice for Florida; SLR makes sense for black interiors, long commutes or if you simply hate a hot car. Tell Omar how you use the car and he’ll say which is worth it.
Does darker film mean cooler?
Not really. Heat comes mostly from infrared light, which ceramic film can block without being very dark. A legal, lighter SLR film keeps a car cooler than a darker basic film.
